What is BSI-certified concrete?
The BSI Kitemark is usually only granted to traditional drum-mixer concrete companies, so Rapid Readymix is one of a small handful of volumetric concrete suppliers that holds the accreditation. It means that our concrete conforms to the British Standards EN 206–1 and 8500 (parts one and two), and that our quality management system adheres to EN ISO 9001.
Achieving BSI certification requires a high level of effort, dedication, attention to detail and scientific understanding of concrete, and the Kitemark shows how hard the Rapid Readymix team has worked to enhance the quality of our readymix concrete and delivery systems.

What makes our readymix concrete so special?
A big part of Rapid Readymix’s success is due to our in-house concrete-testing laboratory, it is a BSI requirement that we test our concrete on a daily basis and our lab enables us to assess and improve the quality of our concrete. We carry out a range of tests, including compressive testing on concrete cubes, aggregate ratio testing for hardened concrete, assessments of mortar mix proportions, and chemical testing for sulphate and chloride content. We store our high-quality aggregate in weather-protected bays to keep it in the best condition before our concrete is delivered.
We are also one of the only volumetric concrete suppliers in South London that uses a fleet of separated volumetric mixers. This means that we use discrete hoppers for each of our raw materials, rather than storing all the aggregates together – enabling us to precisely measure and batch up large volumes of our readymix to your exact specifications. By using separated virgin aggregates, we have complete control over the mix ratios and quality of our readymix concrete.
