Pouring concrete for property renovation

The challenge

West London’s exclusive Holland Park is home to some of the city’s most beautiful houses, and served as the setting for an exciting basement-floor project. Our client Mark was renovating his entire property, as well as building an extension onto the back of the house, and required the Rapid Readymix team to apply a specified concrete mix to the floor of his basement. The team needed to be able to navigate hard-to-reach areas, as access down the side of the property was restricted.

We proposed pouring our industry-leading Readymix over 100m3 of Mark’s basement floor, using a concrete pump to help us efficiently manage the tricky location of the basement. Pumps are quick, clean and easy to use, removing the need for tools like cranes or wheelbarrows – making them ideal for houses that have accessibility issues. He was pleased with our proposed plan of action and, after hearing our competitive quote, hired Rapid Readymix immediately for the work.

Our team got to work on the basement straight away, tailoring our approach to Mark’s exact specifications. Our fleet of mobile, volumetric batching plants enabled us to mix a batch of Readymix concrete in line with his exact preferences, meaning he could achieve the look he desired. Our state-of-the-art pumps meant that we could create the same high-quality finish on every square metre of the space. The resulting effect was a beautifully smooth, solid and bespoke surface for Mark’s basement floor.
