Rapid Readymix become a full time proud sponsor of a determined head strong amateur turned pro boxer Ricky Boylan.
Ricky was brought up in the local area of Morden. He was always very keen and well accomplished in sport especially football. He also enjoyed cross country running. The combination of these two types of training at a young age gave him a great start in terms of physical fitness.
Ricky had a good upbringing with a strong family and good morals. He is a very determined, dedicated young man.
Ricky started at Rosehill ABC Boxing Club and later moved to Earlfields Boxing Club. It was his trainer Sid who encouraged him to progress and turn pro. Once Ricky had it in his head that he could be a professional there was no stopping him. As a Professional he has now had 15 Fights, 2 Losses and 4 KOS. Ricky is now being trained by Jamie Moore and Nigel Travis in Manchester and is promoted by Eddie Hern.
Ricky has had some fantastic fights; one of the Rapid Ready Mix team’s favourites was the fight against Tyler Goodjohn on Saturday 11th October at the O2 arena. Unfortunately Ricky did not come away with the win, but he still showed what an amazing fighter he is and his complete determination and love for the sport.
Rapid very proudly began to sponsor Ricky Boylan in December 2013. When Ricky was out of the gym, he worked a few days a week with the Rapid Ready Mix team. However Ricky wanted to focus on his boxing career so we increased our sponsorship so Ricky could do just that.
Ricky has been training for his next fight at the O2 arena on Saturday 12th September 2015 against Danny Connor another local boxer, calling it ‘The Grudge Match’!!
We wish Ricky Boylan all the very best with his next fight and continue to support him in his journey!
The Rapid Team!!
